TWO MEN in New Zealand have been convicted of murdering a three year old girl following a four week trial that has shocked
the country.
Judge Judith Potter wept as she delivered the verdict and thanked members of the jury for coping with the case.
The shocking catalogue of abuse revealed in court told how brothers Wiremu and Michael Curtis kicked, slapped and held the toddler over a burning fire.
The girl, Nia Glassie, had been spun in a tumble dryer and had once been left unconscious for 36 hours without medical attention.
Wiremu, 19, and Michael Curtis, 22, both face life sentences.
