CHEGA classifies appointment of new finance minister as “joke in bad taste”

Today is the day for every MP outside the PS to say how they feel about António Costa’s choices for the new executive. CHEGA has been particularly scathing about the appointment of Fernando Medina as Minister of Finance – not just because his tenure saw the council fined €1.2 million for putting foreign residents’ safety at risk in the Russiagate scandal, but because the appointment looks simply ‘political’. Mr Medina is “no financial guru”, says CHEGA leader André Ventura.
