In honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this year, Executive Chef Bernard Lussiana at Le Meridien Penina Golf and Resort is preparing a special buffet dinner, which will be attended by the British Ambassador Jill Gallard and members of the community, on June 1.
No one would be better suited to serve this special banquet than Chef Lussiana, the man chosen to prepare the Queen’s State Banquet, held by Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Warsaw in 1996, and attended by more than 300 dignitaries including the country’s President.
Lussiana was in Warsaw from 1995 until 2000, where he worked at Hotel Bristol, a leading Hotel of the World.
While there, he published a book of his recipes, released both in Poland and the United States of America, entitled Poland’s Gourmet Cuisine.
Before that, he had spent 10 years working his way up through Michelin star restaurants in France and Switzerland, during which time he also won both Gold and Silver medals for culinary competitions in France and Spain.
Lussiana has also been the guest Chef for gastronomic events in France, Switzerland, Bahrain and Morocco and opened Le Meridien Tour Hassan in Morocco in 1998.
Born in 1966 in Burgundy in France, Lussiana has lived in Portugal since 2001, with his wife and two children.
