Rotary clubs in the Algarve have supported the Banco Alimentar (Food Bank) with various projects in the past. Funds are once again being raised for this vital association, this time to purchase equipment needed at the Portimão satellite warehouse.
With the November food collection drive fast approaching, the Food Bank needs additional equipment to handle the increase in stock. Join in the fun and help the Food Bank continue to expand its programme.
Organised by the Algarve chapter of the Rotarian Wine Appreciation Fellowship, Restaurant/Garrafeira Veneza, near Paderne, will once again be the venue for a wine tasting on October 23. The event starts at 8pm in the wine-drenched atmosphere of the ‘garrafeira’ (cellar).
This event is sponsored by Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira (CARM) from the Douro and distributor Prime Drinks. Family member João Roboredo will be there to personally introduce the wines, both in Portuguese and English.
The wines will be served with appropriately matched food and will also be available for sale on the evening at promotional prices.
The price for the evening is €35, with €10 from each ticket to benefit the charity.
