Charity tennis tournament success

More than 1,300 euros was raised for ACCA, an Algarve-based charity which helps children in need in the region, during a charity tennis tournament on October 4.

The tournament, which was held at the Jardins do Golfe tennis club, near Vale do Lobo, home of Tennis In Portugal, was organised by head coaches Maria Weston and Mark Sutton.

A total of 50 players took part in the tournament, which included two teams of adult and junior players in the final.

Two junior players, Neanena Davies and Louise Horan-Gahan, reached the final with their adult partners, before Louise Horan-Gahan’s team won the tournament.

Samantha Diamond from ACCA said: “Well done to everyone who took part and a special thank you to sponsors Tennis In Portugal, Propaint and all the other companies and individuals who donated prizes for the raffle.”
