As a birthday gift from her husband, Val Dillon was presented with a skydiving opportunity in Alvor, which she decided to turn into a fundraising event.
“I knew that if I asked people to donate money, then I could not back out,” she told us. “I chose the Algarve Oncology Association’s Casa Flor das Dunas project as the website illustrated its aims very clearly, and most people have been touched in some way by cancer.”
On the day, around 30 people went along to support Val and the total raised was €850. It was presented to Maria de Lurdes, fundraising coordinator at the AOA, on June 15.
