THE RESIDENT is pleased to announce that, following careful deliberation, the chosen charity of the year is Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano in Alvor.
The Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano, which was founded in 1988, currently cares for around 36 children between the ages of 6 and 19, who come from dysfunctional families and usually for their own safety have been unable to remain with them. The staff provide a loving and encouraging environment for the children to thrive in, which will stand them in good stead for the future.
The Resident will be raising money for various projects at the home including the construction of a first floor, furniture, general repairs and upgrades and an air conditioning unit among other things.
