A charity football match featuring current and former Portuguese football stars will be taking place at Lagoa’s Bela Vista stadium in Parchal on Sunday, June 20.
Beto, the Seville goalkeeper crowned the hero of 2014’s UEFA Europa League final after saving two penalties against Benfica, is only one of the many well-known faces taking part in the event.
Ex-national team stars Fernando Couto, Rui Águas and Maniche have also confirmed they will be taking to the field.
Tickets for the ‘friendly game’ will be exchanged for a kilo of non-perishable food, to be donated to Lagoa’s poorest families.
The match begins at 6pm.
