A charity lunch will be held on November 2 by the Friends of Canil de Portimão to raise funds for the homeless dogs and cats temporarily residing at the Portimão municipal kennels.
Established by Patricia de Nieuwe and Karin Verhoeven in 2011, Friends of Canil de Portimão is an association that consists of a voluntary group of Algarve residents of many nationalities who work on a non-profit basis to provide aid and assistance to abandoned animals. So far, the charity has re-homed over 200 animals.
The fundraising Asian-themed lunch will be held at Casa da Vida Nova in Alcantarilha and will begin at 12pm.
An Indonesian buffet lunch will be served and 40 seats will be available. Tickets for the event will cost €25 per person and €12.50 will go directly to the Friends of Canil de Portimão charity.
Reservation is essential and tickets can be picked up from various locations across the Algarve.
