A charity tournament in aid of SPEM, the Portuguese Society for Multiple Sclerosis, will be taking place on September 14 at the Pestana Gramacho golf resort in Carvoeiro.
The event, the fourth, is being held to raise both funds and awareness about Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic disease of the nervous system that most commonly affects people between the ages of 20 and 40.
Money raised through the tournament will be put towards the building of a new headquarters for the association.
A spokesman for SPEM said: “With the construction of a new district headquarters, we will be able to offer broader and better conditions for our members who suffer with Multiple Sclerosis.”
Participation in the event costs €55 per person, with registration open until September 15.
