Charity exhibition by Algarve artists

Algarve artists Kerstin Wagner and David Trubshaw will be holding a joint open studio over the weekend of September 24 and 25 at the Studio Ganesha in Caramujeira between 3pm and 8pm on both days.

David Trubshaw is a member of the Rotary Clube de Silves and both he and Kerstin support the Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor and hope that they will be able to make a donation to the home with funds raised through the sales of their paintings.

Kerstin Wagner is a professional German artist who first came to Portugal in 1994 and has held more than 90 exhibitions across Europe.  She is the founder of the Algarve Artists Network and organises group and private art lessons.

The paintings by Kerstin are based on Yin and Yang and she has developed and perfected her own special technique of using pure pigment powder resulting in her producing brilliant blues, vibrant reds and intense blacks.

Meanwhile, David Trubshaw started to paint seriously again after he retired to the Algarve in 2004.  He learned to perfect his skills under the watchful eye of Kerstin and creates both abstract and landscape pieces inspired by trees and clouds and will have his first exhibition in Portugal in October at the Convent in Lagoa.
