Charity dinner

Guests attended the official inauguration of the headquarters of the Bela Romao Croquet Country Club on September 29 with a private charity dinner.

The club, which overlooks Armona Island, will be the location for the headquarters of the first Portuguese Croquet Foundation, founded by President and property owner Lita Gale.

Guests enjoyed Champagne while watching a Tango performance by Cecilia Galvagni and Carlos Ferreira, followed by a rustic autumn menu created by Sarah F. Byrne, Chef Instructor from the Culinary Institute of America in California with Alentejo wines from Sexy.

Money raised during the evening was donated to the charity Verdades Escondidas, a charity supported by Olhão Rotary Club which assists in rehabilitating young people considered to be at risk and helping them to be reintegrated back into society.

The country club is set to open its doors in spring 2012 for private members.
