A charity concert held at the Silves’ Mascarenhas Gregório Theatre on February 2 raised €2,200 in aid of the local firefighters.
Algarve bands playing different styles of music donated their services free of charge to support the Bombeiros.
The event, which was described as “a way for local musicians, expats and local Portuguese to give something back”, was held in conjunction with Silves town hall who gave the use of the venue free of charge.
