Charity bike ride helps Samuel

On May 13 starting from 9.30am, a charity bike ride will begin from the Conrad Algarve in Almancil.

Supported and organised by ACCA, the charity group helping children in need throughout the Algarve, and in association with Algarve Bike Rides, the event is aimed at raising a minimum of €50 in sponsorship per rider, in aid of ACCA and the ‘Hilton in the Community Foundation’.

A choice of routes are available for those who participate to suit all fitness levels and ability.

Some of the proceeds raised through the event will go towards helping four year old Samuel Santos who has suffered from gastrointestinal problems, seizures, delayed development and more, since he was born, and to date, has still not been given a diagnosis by doctors at Faro and Lisbon hospitals.

His mother and father, Fenella and Ivan Santos, believe he may have Phelan Mcdermid Syndrome, a very rare disorder, however without additional help, are struggling to find ways of helping their son, here in Portugal.
