Changes on the access road to Faro

Redevelopment works for the construction of new car parks, new access roads and landscaping redevelopment in Faro airport have changed the traffic circulation on the access road to the premises of the airport.

Changes began on August 5 in the car park and taxi areas, in the pedestrian access routes to car parks, at the bus stop and in the parking areas for emergency vehicles.

The taxi rank is now located at park number six (BUS) and the passenger pick-up area is now on the east side of the airport terminal (see diagram below).

“The changes to pedestrian routes to access the car parks will be supported with signals to minimise any impact,” said a spokesman from Faro Airport. The works are due to be finished in 2013 and will increase the capacity of the airport from six to eight million passengers per year.”
