CHANGES TO traffic flow in some of Portimão’s streets will stay in place until reconstruction work on the Metallic Bridge crossing the Arade River is concluded.
Starting at midnight on Sunday, traffic in Rua Infante D. Henrique, Rua de São José and Rua Júdice Biker is being routed in the opposite direction, meaning faster access to the city centre.
Drivers coming from Cardosas area to Largo Gil Eanes will no longer be able to turn left to Largo da Estação, the railway station square. Drivers circulating in Avenida Sá Carneiro will no longer be able to turn left at the crossroads of Rua Infante D. Henrique, to go to Cardosas.
To access Cardosas area, drivers will have to drive the Rua Infante D. Henrique and turn to Rua Vila Lobos that ends at the railway station square.
People coming from the Portimão downtown through Rua Serpa Pinto, and wanting to go to Largo Gil Eanes, must drive through Rua São José and Rua do Moinho.
