MORE THAN 100 guests attended the British Portuguese Chamber of Commerce’s (BPCC) annual summer garden party in Lapa (Lisbon) last week. The event was held at the Palácio de Porto Covo da Bandeira, the premises of Lusitania Companhia de Seguros (Insurance Company).
Guests, who tucked into a sumptuous alfresco buffet of hot and cold food, included the British Ambassador to Portugal, John Buck, and his family. Richard Turner, the Embassy’s director for trade and investment, also attended. Following the dinner, guests danced the night away in the gardens behind the Lusitania offices, formally the site of the British Ambassador’s residence.
Apart from Lusitania, there were representatives from the Nordea Bank, WIS International, the Algarve based company that specialises in research, investigation and intelligence, and Spengler Fox, an executive search and human resources consultancy, among others. Gabriel Hershman
