Chamber focuses on tax and incentives

Are you paying too much tax? Are you aware of the latest government incentives on investment and tax breaks? Or the rules regarding exemption from tax and social security payments for employers and employees? Do you have a project that would qualify for EU funding or a grant?

These are the practical, down-to-earth issues that will be covered in the next seminar organised by the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) in the Algarve. The event will be held on Wednesday May 19 at the Montechoro Hotel, Albufeira, and is open to everyone, members and non-members alike.

Leading accountants Dra Filomena Ramilo from Sintra and Aníbal Moreno, who is President of the Almancil Business Association, will cover the complex areas of tax and IVA, explaining how the systems work, what can be claimed and what incentives are available for the smallest of companies. Dr João Rodrigues, head of IAPMEI in Faro, will explain the various EU funds that are most relevant to the Algarve, what the criteria are for support and how the system works.

After a networking lunch, the speakers will be available for private one-to-one 15-minute consultations – but these spaces are limited and have to be pre-booked! Cost for the event is 30 euros for members and 35 euros for non-members – great value for money when you consider the amount you could save on tax and IVA!
