A small number of members of the Algarve bailliage of the global gastronomic and ‘dégusteurs’ foundation of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and their guests met at the Hotel Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Largo on the evening of Saturday, December 8.
The occasion was the annual black tie Christmas dinner which was held at the Gusto Restaurant. The event gave members who had visited Chef Heinz Beck’s three-star restaurant earlier in the year for the Chaîne Grand Chapitre in Rome the opportunity to visit his kitchen here in the Algarve.
The evening began with a welcoming drink of ‘Espumante’ at the bar before being seated at the table. The colourful gastronomic journey started with an amuse bouche, followed by amberjack, foie gras, delicate fagottelli carbonara, a cod dish and a main course of duck ending with a desert of tiramisu. This was accompanied by wines chosen and explained by the house sommelier.
This event, as every other meeting of the Chaîne, generated funds for the charities worldwide supported by the Chaîne Foundation including the Gastronomy School here in Portugal.
