The Biergarten, with its children’s play area, proved a popular venue with the younger members who had come to join in with this special family event.
The meal planned was a barbecue and started with a combination of cold cuts from the Biergarten’s resident butcher, Bavarian blue cheese and a traditional herring salad with two kinds of traditional breads all served at the tables.
Vila Vita’s house red and white wines and water provided the refreshment with an option to choose freshly tapped Bavarian beer if preferred.
The large grill area allowed everyone to select their favourite combinations from the row of barbecues which continued to produce a varied selection of freshly-cooked food. There was ample choice from rump steak, lamb skewers, traditional sausages, spareribs and chicken to Kadai smoked salmon, not to mention the Biergarten’s famous pork knuckle. Side dishes of roasted vegetables and summer salads with popular sauces completed the choice.
Dessert was served to share and consisted of chocolate mousse, apple strudel with vanilla sauce and seasonal fruits followed by coffee, bringing the relaxing evening to a close.
