With the government’s new SNS health statute now formally rubber-stamped by President Marcelo, the final peg in the process – the naming of the CEO of the new health executive – is expected to be ‘formalised’ by the end of this week. Porto hospital director Fernando Araújo is almost certainly the choice, but he has yet to formally accept the role.
