Centre Algarve welcomes British Ambassador

British Ambassador Chris Sainty and his wife Sarah spent an enthralling afternoon at Centre Algarve in Moncarapacho last weekend. The team at the holiday centre for people with special needs were on hand to welcome the honourable guests.

Sam Willis, who has tremendous knowledge of the wide range of birds and animals that are a feature of the centre, explained how youngsters came alive as they interacted with the meerkats, chipmunks, wallaby, goats, tri-coloured squirrels, tortoises and numerous varieties of birds in the extensive aviaries.

Amy Willis gave the guests a conducted tour of the facilities including the air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite hygiene and wet rooms, discovery centre, soft play/sensory room as well as the American-themed diner and children’s kitchen.

The guests finally enjoyed homemade pastries and afternoon tea before Sarah Sainty was presented with a hand-decorated Christmas candle to commemorate the visit.
