Over €600 was raised when Centre Algarve, the new holiday concept for those with special needs, threw open its doors to the public last Saturday.
A steady stream of visitors, including many who had not visited the centre before, ensured that the day was a success.
One visitor who had seen the centre before was British Consul Clive Jewell who was most impressed with the work
being undertaken.
Thanks to an army of volunteers, Centre Algarve, near Moncarapacho, is steadily taking shape and hoping to host its first group later this year.
Volunteers take a welcome break. |
The tombola stall was popular as was the raffle that included a first prize of a microlight flight.
Andy Mahoney of Centre Algarve said: “We were delighted to meet old friends and also many new ones. This project is only possible through the generosity of so many wonderful people both here in Portugal and abroad.”
