Celebrating world music

World music festival, Festival MED, is back for the sixth year and some of the biggest names from the Latin scene have already been confirmed to take part in this five day music feast in the historic centre of Loulé.

Spanish nine piece, Ojos de Brujo are due to be one of the headlining acts while two of the most well known names in Argentinian music, Bajofondo Tango Club and Mercedes Sosa, have also been confirmed.

Although the festival is primarily a celebration of music, there will also be art exhibitions, food tasting, craft stalls and street theatre performances.

A full listing of bands and artists, as well as a complete programme of all other events, will be available from May 28, details of which will appear in the June 5 edition of the Algarve Resident.
