Ceiling of Lisbon tax office collapses

The bad weather that hit Lisbon on Monday caused such a degree of leakage into the Lisbon-9 Chelas tax office, that the ceiling collapsed. The Syndicate of Tax Office Workers has since explained that leaks in many offices are ‘nothing new’: in fact conditions can be horrendous. Syndicate president Ana Gamboa adds that the hierarchy does nothing in the face of consistent complaints. There are branches with infestations of rodents, cockroaches while others let in rain in bad weather and are without air conditioning to allay the heat of the summer.
