Carvoeiro Catholics will be celebrating Mass in English on Sunday, September 19 at 4pm at the village’s chapel on the cliffs – Capela de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação (Our Lady of the Incarnation). English Mass is held on the third Sunday of every month.
The whole Mass will be in English: the readings, the hymns as well as the Order of Mass. Everyone is welcome even if they do not normally attend this church.
Covid-19 rules will apply, and attendees are asked to wear masks. There will be hand sanitiser at the door and distanced seating.
“We are collecting for the Food Bank, so please bring a contribution with a long shelf life. We support 70 families in need,” says Madeleine Wheare from Carvoeiro Catholics.
The usual time for weekend Mass in Carvoeiro is Saturday at 5.30pm (in Portuguese). This English Mass does not replace that.
