Following years of requests for funding, petitions and protests by local residents and Silves Câmara, restoration work at the city’s cathedral has finally started.
A spokesman from Silves Câmara told the Algarve Resident that the work is expected to last for six months.
The restoration work is being financed by a group of private and public investors who together have raised the estimated 360,000 euros needed to complete the work.
