CAT scanning equipment fails for second time in Viseu Hospital

Critical CAT scanning equipment has failed for the second time in six months in Viseu Hospital, exposing the difficulties faced by hospitals in Portugal’s interior regions, say reports. The hospital actually has two ‘old’ scanning machines. Both failed over the weekend, leading to patients having to be sent all the way to Coimbra for exams, a journey of more than one hour. Hopes are to get at least one of the machines repaired by close of today, reports SIC.
