Casualty patients evacuated from hospital in Leiria after ceiling collapses following torrential rain

Patients in Leiria’s Hospital de Santo André had to be evacuated from the casualty department today after heavy rains brought down a false ceiling. The situation appears to have been exacerbated by ‘clogged guttering’, explain sources. No-one was hurt, and hospital staff are understood to have turned up from home to help with the clean-up operation.
