THIS WEEKEND Castro Verde in the Alentejo transforms into a huge street market as stalls selling dried fruit and nuts and other traditional foods give shoppers the chance to stock up their larders for winter.
Castro Verde also has a cultural agenda for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, including parades, marching band performances and traditional folk singing.
