Roadshow EU, a London-based company, has its eye on the drawers and jewellery boxes of people living in the Algarve.
“People often forget about their valuables for years once they have bought them or inherited them,” said Morne Botes, owner of the business. “Because of the record price of gold, it is a very good time to sell.”
The Roadshow EU team will be in Portimão on September 15 and Vilamoura on September 16 from 10am until 6pm both days, appraising and buying jewellery and collectable watches.
“We are collectors ourselves and look for special and antique items. For many items we can pay two or three times more than the gold value,” said Morne Botes.
“We are especially looking for vintage watches before 1970 – all Rolex, Omega, Heuer and Breitling from this era of time are special to us. We always find big diamonds in this area as well, as we offer great prices for all diamonds over 2ct.”
