Cascais’ private airstrip closed for not having right certification for its meteorological equipment

Cascais’ private airstrip at Tires was in chaos over the weekend after being closed down with “not even two minutes’ notice”. Companies running private jets and services told Lusa news agency that they lost “tens of thousands of euros worth of business” – all because the little airport was found without the right certification for its meteorological equipment. Airline boss Retílio Soares said had companies been given notice, they could have temporarily transferred business elsewhere.
