A couple described as in their 70s were pronounced dead early this morning after having apparently fallen five floors from the apartment building in Cascais in which they lived.
Breaking the news, local paper Cascais24 said authorities are still trying to establish the circumstances that led to the deaths.
PJ homicide police and forensic experts are involved.
Says the paper, there was nothing that first responder firefighters could have done.
For now, the couple’s identities have not been released.
The apartment building where they fell is in Avenida Marechal Carmona, next to Jumbo, reports PT Jornal, while tabloid Correio da Manhã says that “all possibilities are open”, from suicide, to a murder followed by suicide, to a tragic case of accident.
