More than 40 members of the CASA social club attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 20.
Chairman Norman Thompson thanked those in attendance for coming to the meeting, held at Poço Partido Restaurant in Carvoeiro, and for the continued support of the members who regularly take part in organised events.
The coach trip to Tangiers last November was deemed a success, thanks to the organisation of the trip by Mary King, while the coach trip this year to Lisbon and Tomar will include visits to sites of local interest in the destinations.
Norman Thompson also thanked the committee for their efforts over the year and said goodbye to two longstanding members who did not wish to be re-elected this year.
Patricia Benton, who had helped with local knowledge and language skills, and Peter Fowler, who had worked as he press and PR secretary, both stood down from the committee while Lesley Foster and Ken Nelms were elected as replacement members.
The annual financial report was presented by Margaret Britto, who announced that there was 500 euros reserved for an as yet undecided charitable donation.
