Thirty-eight CASA members and guests attended the social club’s 2017 annual general meeting at A Tasquinha in Monte Carvoeiro on March 25.
At last year’s AGM, the club elected a new chairperson for the first time in many years. This year all five committee members (Chairwoman and Treasurer – Margaret Britto; Secretary – Susan Puttick; Social Secretary – Pam Elson; Membership – Lena Rietbergen; Publicity and Website – Norman Crocker) had indicated they were willing to stand for another year and were re-elected.
The club’s new chairwoman Margaret Britto made a short presentation regarding CASA objectives, the previous year’s activities and some forthcoming events, including the autumn trip to Spain. The honorary auditor David Butler-Cole had reviewed the 2016 accounts, presented his comments and the accounts were passed.
The meeting was followed by a three-course dinner.
CASA’s next event will be a Sunday lunch on April 23 at The Village Inn near Parchal.
