THE TRIAL of an former employee of the state owned orphanage Casa Pia in Lisbon, accused of 32 crimes of sexual abuse against two children, began on Tuesday at the Boa-Hora Court.
Arlindo Monteiro Teotónio, aged 29, is accused of sexually abusing a boy more than 30 times, from 1998 when the boy was 10-years-old until 2001. Arlindo Teotónio is also accused of attempted sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl in 1998 at the Lar de São Martinhal children’s home.
This is the sixth independent trial that has come out of the investigations into the Casa Pia orphanage.
