CASA continues a busy autumn schedule

Carvoeiro-based Social Club CASA is enjoying a busy autumn schedule with three events being held in the last few weeks and another lunch planned for this weekend.

On October 26, 50 members travelled over to Faro by train for lunch at the Faro Catering College (Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo Algarve).

A welcome drink was followed by a three-course lunch served by the students. Most attendees left in time to catch the train back home, while others remained to wander through the fair taking place outside.

On Monday, November 6, 41 members travelled by coach from the Algarve to Granada for a two-night visit. Tuesday morning was spent wandering around town, many taking the chance to shop, then back to the hotel to take the coach for a short ride up the hill to the Alhambra complex.

Wednesday saw the group taking the coach on to Cordoba. On the way, they stopped for a short coffee at an old Spanish railway station – out of service for some 35 years but now a thriving restaurant and shop.

On Thursday morning, a local guide took members for a short walk around the old ‘Jewish quarter’ then into the Mesquita, “truly a wonder of the world”.

On Friday, it was time to return to the Algarve, with members describing the five-day break as “superb”.

The next event in CASA’s autumn schedule is a lunch on Sunday, November 19, followed by a Christmas party and dinner on Saturday, December 2.
