‘Casa Aberta’ forced to bring down shutters…

Portugal’s ‘Casa Aberta’ (Open House) vaccination programme – allowing people to turn up for Covid vaccines without appointments – had to be closed temporarily in Lisbon this week, because too many people turned up at the same time. The decision was taken, explained Civil Protection boss Ângelo Pereira, to protect the appointments of people who had been issued with time-slots. Lisbon’s FIL exhibition centre is running as the largest vaccination centre in the country.
