Carvoeiro will be hosting its first major New Year’s Eve Party with DJs and fireworks, the president of the Lagoa and Carvoeiro parish union has confirmed.
“We have wanted to do this since we took power. We have a square facing the beach that has excellent conditions to host a popular New Year’s Eve party,” Joaquim João Paulo told regional news website Algarve Marafado.
After some local residents organised a party at the square last year, “we decided to follow up on it and make it bigger,” he said.
The party will begin at 10pm with two bands performing until 1pm, with a small break at midnight for a 15-minute fireworks show. A DJ will play music and continue the celebrations until 3am.
