Carvoeiro promises “legendary night” for Black &White party

Carvoeiro is promising a “legendary night” for the village’s unmissable ‘Black & White Night’ party, on June 15, which has been marking the start of the Algarve’s summer festivities since 2014.

The event attracts thousands of people every year, eager to see the many live performances, DJ sets and entertainment that the event has become so well known for.

Carvoeiro truly comes alive with people dressed in black and white, stages set up along the main streets and beachside square, and street performers entertaining the crowds. There is literally a surprise around every corner!

This year will be no exception as a long list of entertainment has already been revealed.

Fado singer Raquel Peters will kick off the festivities at 8.30pm at the beachside square and, from then on, the choice of entertainment will be plentiful.

Percussionist Vasco Ramalho will be playing his ‘marimba’ starting at 8.40pm on Rua dos Pescadores.

Jazz and Bossa Nova fans will be able to enjoy a live show by The Bossa Alibi between 9.20pm and 11.30pm on Rua do Barranco, while The Piano Man Band will perform at the Carvoeiro amphitheatre starting at 9.50pm.

Estrada do Farol will be hosting several performances from 9pm onwards. At 10pm, DJ Mark Guedes will be playing some of the most “danceable” hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, and at 10.30pm, The Bottles (The Beatles tribute band) will take the audience back to the 1960s on the stage near the taxi rank.

At midnight, a fireworks show will take place at the main beachside square with synchronised music.

The party will then move on to the beach where DJ Deelight will keep revellers dancing until 3am.

To keep children entertained throughout the event, there will be a play area with face-painting and other activities taking place from 9pm to midnight.

Lagoa council will also be providing a free bus linking Carvoeiro to parking areas near Fatacil, Apolónia, Aldi and Gramital (car park near Aldi).
