Carvoeiro drowning inquest

A coroner has recorded a verdict of natural causes at the inquest into the death of teenager Mia Knight from Hove, UK, who fell unconscious while wading out to an inflatable ride on Carvoeiro beach (see Algarve Resident, August 26 2011).

As reported by ITV News on April 23, the cause of Mia Knight’s death was recorded as ‘Sudden Adult Death Syndrome’ with episodes of loss of consciousness associated with fitting. “The Coroner Ms Catherine Palmer said she was satisfied that Mia didn’t drown despite Portuguese authorities previously recording that as a cause of death,” said the report.
