Carols on the Cliffs of Carvoeiro – for the hardy!

Participants are asked to dress warmly. Santa hat is optional

After a compulsory hiatus of two years due to Covid, now it’s time to spread some Christmas spirit again on the clifftops above Carvoeiro. ‘Carols on the Cliffs’ is returning on December 22 at 6pm at the amphitheatre behind the church.

‘Carols on the Cliffs’ is a free outdoor community singing event for all. Organisers stress thatthis is not a concert or a performance. “The stars will be the people who show up and sing with us. Sustenance will be at hand with mulled wine, mince pies as well as regular bar fare,” they say.

This family-friendly fundraising event is in aid of the Portimão girls’ home Casa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição and the Lagoa Foodbank.

This year, ‘Carols on the Cliffs’ will have the support of Angela Theobold, Alex Melo (vocals) and Anne Stevens (keyboard). “We will lead carols in English, French, German and Portuguese – and many of them will have multi-lingual verses,” say organisers, adding that a carol sheet will be supplied.

Participants are asked to dress warmly. Santa hat is optional.
