THE RESIDENT was invited to attend two Christmas carol concerts last week and was very impressed with the quality.
First visit was to ‘Carols on the Patio’ at St Julian’s School in Carcavelos. Students and teachers entertained parents, who turned up on a bright, sunny December morning to a medley of Christmas songs.
Then, on Sunday, The Resident visited St George’s Anglican Church for the ‘Festival of Carols and Christmas Readings’. St. Georges Choir, under the leadership of Ms Jackie Correia, enchanted the audience. Dr David Cranmer certainly gave the organ pipes a good test at the end, with his Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach. The address by Rev. David Huie of St Andrew’s Church of Scotland reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas.
