Children’s celebrations

Why not pay a visit to downtown Faro on Friday, February 24, at 10am, and enjoy a colourful carnival parade featuring children from the city’s schools and kindergartens?

The youngsters parade down Rua do Santo António from 10am, congregating at Jardim Manuel Bivar in front of the dock, where there will be plenty of entertainment including traditional carnival-style music, clowns, dancers, characters on stilts and lots of balloons and streamers.

The colourful costumes are a sight to behold, with groups of children, as young as three years of age, dressed in identical outfits. From ladybirds to sunflowers, princes and princesses, knights and dragons, the cute little characters and the happy party atmosphere make this an event not to be missed!
