Carnival day next Tuesday February 21 deemed “day off” for public sector

The government has conceded that next Tuesday (February 21) should be a ‘day off’ for public sector workers to celebrate Carnival. The day is not part of the official calendar of public holidays, but … ‘what the heck’: schools are officially ‘off’ next week, albeit classes have not been running normally for weeks due to strikes, some of which began last December.
