Public sector employees will have to work on Carnival day and Holy Thursday before Easter. The measure will continue while the financial assistance programme lasts, announced the government. The Secretary of State for the Presidency, Luís Marques Guedes, said last week that civil servants will have to work on February 12 (Carnival) and March 28 (Holy Thursday) and won’t be granted the day off as in the old days before the recession.
