MAYOR OF Lisbon Carmona Rodrigues said there were simply not enough policemen to go around Lisbon.
Calling the situation extremely worrying, the mayor has relayed his concerns to the Ministry of the Interior. According to Carmona, Lisbon only has half of the police it needs to guarantee public safety and security. He said that there should be around 1,200 policemen, but there were only between 400 and 800 at any one time.
