Portugal’s car sale sector continued its recovery in September, with 30% more cars sold than the same month last year.
This means that a total of 15,138 cars were sold in Portugal last month, says the country’s Automobile Association (ACAP).
In the first nine months of the year, Portugal’s car sale sector has seen the number of cars sold increase 27.5% to reach 159,551.
Renault was the most popular brand, selling 1,679 cars.
Volkswagen – at the centre of a fraudulent emissions scandal – also had a good month, selling 18.7% more cars than in September last year.
The only brand that registered a drop in sales was Seat – also involved in the emissions scandal (click here).
