THE CAPTAIN of Carvoeiro Golf and Country Club chose to support the Oncology Unit of the Portimão Barlavento Hospital. During 2004 and 2005, ladies’ captain Carolyn Ashford, gents’ captain Keith Ross and the club’s social secretary Trish Hussey raised more than 7,000 euros for the unit. Their thanks go to all the members of the club, local businesses and friends for their wonderful support of this worthy cause.
