We are so looking forward to restrictions being lifted from the UK so that we can return to all our favourite places and see friends again in the Algarve. It has been a very difficult year for everyone and has hit tourism especially hard, so we hope that your readers in the UK will be back and continue to support this wonderful part of Portugal.
We managed to get to Vilamoura after the first lockdown in July 2020 and then returned for a short time in October and on both trips found everything to be safe in restaurants, shops, the shopping malls and indeed in our very favourite hotel, Crowne Plaza, where we have been visiting for the past nine years and often three times a year.
The hotel’s attention to safety procedures in line with the national guidelines was excellent and the atmosphere, even with restrictions, was so welcoming. Our flights are booked for May 22.
We would like to wish everyone a much more positive summer and sincerely hope that the Algarve will be very much on the tourism map again this year.
